A broad, five-petalled bloom occupies the centre, its softly modulated pinks gathering around a finely dotted yellow heart. Deep crimson buds, serrated green leaves and a slender thorned stem give the plant structural clarity, while the pale cream ground removes every distraction from its branching form.
Redouté was celebrated for flower studies that reconciled scientific observation with exceptional delicacy. Working during a period of growing interest in botanical classification, he treated the identifying features of a plant with precision without reducing it to a dry diagram. Here, the rose can be examined closely—its stamens, leaf venation, buds and thorns are all carefully distinguished—yet the arrangement retains the grace of a cultivated bouquet. The result belongs to an early nineteenth-century botanical culture in which accurate description and aesthetic pleasure were closely allied.
A closer look
The open flower provides the composition’s luminous centre. Its petals are not rendered in a single uniform pink: paler edges and subtle tonal shifts suggest their thinness, while gentle shadows near the base establish the way each petal overlaps the next. At the centre, numerous tiny yellow stamens form a concentrated area of texture and warmth, contrasting with the broad, comparatively quiet surfaces around them.
Above and to the left, rounded buds introduce denser notes of crimson red. Their compact forms make an effective counterpoint to the expansive open blossom, implying different stages of flowering within one coherent study. Across the lower half, the foliage becomes richer and more intricate. Individual leaflets are defined by sharply serrated margins, fine pale veins and restrained shading that gives them substance without obscuring their botanical structure.
A narrow stem rises along the right-hand side, punctuated by small thorns that might be missed at first glance. This vertical element steadies the otherwise spreading arrangement of flowers and leaves. Beneath the specimen, the Latin title Rosa Canina grandiflora appears in elegant script, accompanied by the French name Rosier Canin à grandes fleurs. These inscriptions place the rose between the formal language of botanical study and the vocabulary through which contemporary readers would have encountered it.

Mi marco estándar es un marco de madera de fresno negro estilo galería. Es simple y tiene un aspecto bastante moderno. Mi marco estándar tiene alrededor de 20 mm (0.8 in) de ancho.
Utilizo acrílico super claro (perspex/acrylite) para el vidrio del marco. Es más ligero y seguro que el vidrio, y se ve mejor, ya que la reflectividad es menor.
Seis colores de marco estándar están disponibles de forma gratuita (negro, marrón oscuro, gris oscuro, roble, blanco y oro antiguo).El enmarcado y montaje/matizado personalizado está disponible si buscas algo diferente.
La mayoría de los mapas, arte e ilustraciones también están disponibles como un lienzo enmarcado. Utilizamos lienzo de algodón mate (no brillante), lo estiramos sobre un marco de madera de caja de origen sostenible, y luego 'flotamos' la pieza dentro de un marco de madera. El resultado final es bastante hermoso, y no hay cristal que se interponga.

Nuestro estudio de Londres trabaja a partir de material de origen cuidadosamente seleccionado de museos, bibliotecas, archivos y colecciones privadas. Una vez restaurada, la obra maestra se prepara para el tamaño y el acabado que haya elegido. Después, su pieza se imprime y, cuando se selecciona, se enmarca cerca de su destino de entrega.
