A fascinating map of Poland, published in 1799 by one of the preeminent map makers of the time, John Cary.
This map shows the dismemberment of the Kingdom of Poland into three parts in 1772, 1793 and 1795, to Austria, Russia and Prussia respectively. Yellow shows the Austrian regions, Blue shows Russia, and Red shows Prussia.
More accurately, this map actually shows the splitting up of the Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth. Poland wouldn't exist again as a sovereign nation until after World War 1.
This map looks amazing at all sizes, from 12x16 inches (30x40cm) to 18x24 (45x60cm) and beyond. It looks truly beautiful at larger sizes like 24x36 inches (60x90cm). I can print this map at sizes up to 90 inches (230cm) wide. Get in touch if you're looking for very large or customised maps.
The model in the listing images is holding the 20x16 inch (50x40cm) version of this map.
Please note the unframed 24x30 inch map has white edges around the map. These edges can help you with framing, or if you don’t need them they are very easy to snip off with scissors. All other maps, including the framed maps, look exactly like the listing images.
A surprising number of towns, villages and cities are already visible in this map of Poland, including Warsaw. Do zoom into the map and try to spot your hometown or favourite holidaying destination!
This would make a wonderful gift for someone from Poland or who is interested in the history of central Europe.
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes my maps pop out on the wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. I use super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite) to glaze my frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.

I use state of the art and eye-wateringly expensive technology to scan and restore the maps. As a result, I guarantee my maps are a cut above the rest - that's why I can offer a no-quibble refund.
Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (200cm, 6.5ft+) and I can frame and deliver them to you as well, via special oversized courier. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
