Seguir leyendoRoyal St. David’s Golf Club in Harlech is one of Wales’s purest links experiences, and this map distils its character into an elegant, modern piece of wall art. Set on a gentle diagonal with a refined compass, the composition is anchored by a sweeping expanse of pale blue water in the upper left — a striking suggestion of the coastal estuary that shapes the course’s mood and challenge. The result is at once minimalist and evocative, placing the club’s historic identity in a clean, contemporary frame.
Across the print, the routing reveals itself in three expressive movements: a looser cluster of holes at lower left; a tight central corridor of long, near-parallel fairways; and a sweeping sequence to the right that bends and stretches diagonally. Seen from above, those slender, elongated fairways read like classic links corridors — purposeful, wind-aware, and beautifully economical with space — before resolving into rounded, well-poised greens.
Subtle golden-tan bunkers fleck the layout, gathering in small clusters around key greens and skirting fairway edges with quiet menace. Fine blue drainage lines thread between holes, adding delicate detail and reinforcing the sense of open, windswept ground. A pair of small water features punctuates the central and right-hand sections, heightening the strategic rhythm without disturbing the course’s calm, natural flow. It’s a design that looks exacting from the tee, yet wonderfully lyrical when viewed as a complete plan.
Founded in 1894, Royal St. David’s has long inspired golfers who prize authenticity and atmosphere. This map celebrates that heritage and the place itself — the airy spaces between holes, the measured cadence of the routing, the interplay of green, sand, and water that makes Harlech so memorable. For members, visitors, and anyone with a soft spot for great links golf, it’s a refined tribute to a course that lingers in the imagination.
Clean, modern design — made from real data
We build each course map by hand from high-resolution mapping sources, translating the true shapes of fairways, greens, bunkers, and water into a crisp, contemporary composition. The layout you love is preserved with accuracy while pared back to its most elegant lines.
The aesthetic is minimal, stylish, and timeless — generous white space, beautifully balanced forms, and the bold sweep of the estuary create a piece that feels as considered as it is evocative.
Looks good anywhere
Understated and sophisticated, this print elevates a living room, study, office, golf room, hallway, or clubhouse wall — a statement of taste that invites conversation without overpowering the space.
A genuinely brilliant gift for golfers
Because it captures a real place and real memories, this is one of those rare golf gifts that feels instantly personal — a meaningful keepsake for those who play there, dream of it, or hold it close.
Perfect for:
- Birthdays
- Retirements
- Father’s Day
- Golf trips
- Club championships
- Memorial trophies or friendship gifts
- Wedding or anniversary presents for golf-loving couples
A thoughtful, elegant way to commemorate a treasured course — far more personal than the usual golf gift.
Looking for a different course? You can commission a custom map of any golf course in the world, created to suit the course, location and style you have in mind.
This golf course map can also be personalised. We can discreetly mark a favourite hole, add a small illustration of you and a playing partner on the course, or place a dedication beneath the title. Each detail is carefully composed so that it feels like a natural part of the map.
Customisation, sizing and framing
For guidance on size, colour or framing, or to request an option that is not available online, please contact us. A member of our team will be happy to advise, and we usually respond within a few minutes.
The fifth listing image shows an example of our map personalisation service. Zoom in to see how the additional details have been integrated into the original design, or browse more examples of personalised maps.
You can also choose to have your map carefully aged, giving it the softer colour, patina and character of an older antique print. An example is shown in the sixth listing image, and you can view further examples of our ageing treatments.
The model in the listing images is holding the 18x24in (45x60cm) version of this map.
This golf course map can be printed and framed at sizes up to 3 metres (10ft). For a bespoke size or framing option that is not shown online, please get in touch.
The map is available as a giclée print on acid-free archival matte paper, or professionally framed and ready to hang. Our standard frames are offered in six carefully selected finishes: black, dark brown, dark grey, antique gold, oak and white. A wider range of mouldings, mounts and finishes is available through our custom framing service.
Our frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic, chosen for its excellent clarity and reduced reflections. It is also substantially lighter and safer than conventional glass, making it particularly well suited to larger framed maps.
This map is also available as a float framed canvas, sometimes known as a shadow gap framed canvas or canvas floater. The map is printed on artist's cotton canvas and then stretched over a handmade box frame. We then "float" the canvas inside a wooden frame, which is available in a range of colours (black, dark brown, oak, antique gold and white). This is a wonderful way to present a map without glazing in front. See some examples of float framed canvas maps and explore the differences between my different finishes.
For something truly unique, this map is also available in "Unique 3D", our trademarked process that dramatically transforms the map so that it has a wonderful sense of depth. We combine the original map with detailed topography and elevation data, so that mountains and the terrain really "pop". For more info and examples of 3D maps, check my Unique 3D page.
