      About the artist: J.M.W. Turner

      Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), known widely as J.M.W. Turner or simply Turner, is one of Britain’s most celebrated landscape and maritime painters. Born in London, Turner enrolled at the Royal Academy Schools at just fourteen, showcasing exceptional talent from an early age. His prolific career spanned over six decades, during which he produced thousands of innovative works that redefined landscape painting and anticipated modern abstraction.
